Perhaps there’s some way to map it to your model in UV Mapper then import it to Blender. I don’t believe you can import face maps into Blender. I’m just wondering how would I get the UV map from UV Mapper map to Blender so it lines up. It looks like it might make UV mapping easier so I’m going to try out thier tutorial later. Like zb, tied to a computer, online registration needed when change of computer…no good deal…i felt really bad when discovered that after purchase, but didn’t want my money bacl as I value too much this tool.įor those times I wasn’t very happy with only 2d txturing: today, I can deal without 3d painting almost even better, but it keeps being such an acelerating way of the proccess. There’s eons since I don’t visit the forums or read the bulletins…They’re license system is one thing I don’t like. In the forum, there are tricks, like how to use the clone tool with projection painting (basicly need I think to play with 2 layers, putting the origin of clone in the intial one, but cloning in the new one, if I remember well…) You can import a psd with its layers (the hot link tend to export the layers you manuall added in dp3d into ps, so, new ps layers wont be imported back into dp3d, though u can merge in ps with the base:color one(beware not to merge the blue wirse one, hehe)…) from the layers menu, I think. Is really important, as that allows importing a psd without hotlinking, so no need of ps for that: Gimp, Opencanvas, and many others (psp, sure) can save a psd with layers. The categories get saved automatically with that one.īut i have to dig a bit on how to add textures as base brush. You know anyway, when using the included texture paints, u can change scale of texture, otherwise it becomes useless.īTW, i found very important certain brush setting: the inverted curved “v” profile (not the straight V) with maximum feather, and a huge size, becomes almost as subtle as a PS brush. Indeed, I just invented my workflow and have researched little more…in the deep3d users forums I know some guy used to do custom textures…Ĭustom brushes can be done if not based in a texture directly there…you can clone an existing one, modify (it put a + when modified but not saved, in the brush name in list), change opacity, brush shape, etc, and the save as new brush. is there a ‘new brush’ command that you know of?" " i don’t quite understand yet how to make custom texture paint brushes other than to modify the current ones. Lol, in years haven’t use that, now that I think. While at companies I use it a lot in ps… I mean, the 2d painter/editor of dp3d lacks in (imho) : the brush subtle of ps, the splines stuff is more powerful in ps (or many other 2d specialized editors), and in general, is a very reduced funcionality 2d editor, the one embeded(as you know, you double click on channel, and late ron if u don’t kill the window, can switch with ctrl+tab). Sadly it does not do a continues check on the texture loaded and replace, like Ultimate Unwrap does, or like Deep Exploration does, or the yet available free somewhere, 3d exploration 1.5 beta.Is one of the common checkers that old school game skinners tended to use, or some md2, md3 viewer with that nice function. I’m eager to see released a Gimp plugin for deep paint3d, but in the mean time, you can just edit in gimp the same BMPs (whether their difusse, gloss, spec, bump, whatever ), and just refresh the channel. They’re nice, but if you have also purchased Adobe Ps, that’d be the best way to go, specially as it has a great hotlinking with the tool, and you hitting a button, import and export towards adobe PS…My fav for that is ps 7.01. " has got to be the selection tools and spline curves." I lately don’t like it so much…is very nice, but some times produces me some errors…somewhat I have fixed my workflow in a mix of 2d and 3d painting. " i think my favorite feature of it other than the projection painting" “sorry i didn’t mean UV mapping i meant UV painting.” I bought it after having purchased Zbrush…Certainly realized that though it was a good tool for other matters, I personally much prefered what was checking in the deep 3d demo.It is quite expencisve, I know…But in those times the only serious game profile I have them was texturer, so it worthed for me… I spent months testing 3d apps demos, and even studying the available pdf manuals at Righthemisphere site, before purchasing.
